The Word For November 2017.
The General Overseer has received a Word for each Month of the Year 2017 for our confession, meditation and action. The Word for November is from Philippians 4:11 (ASV):
I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content.
I Hear The Sound Of Abundance !
In the midst of the current sexual scandals, political crisis and upheaval engulfing the nations of the world, I hear the sound of abundance. “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, NIV).
1 Kings 18:41 (NKJV) Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”
But why would God provide for you?
Well, He will because He cares for you! Come to think of it, if He looks after the flowers, why will He not take care of you, knowing that you are much more valuable than the flowers? Let’s take a moment to consider the flowers of the field as Jesus urges us to do in Matthew 6:28–30. God takes care of them and clothes them in beautiful colours. They don’t spin thread to make clothing, yet as Jesus said, not even King Solomon in all his glory was ever dressed like one of them. If God cares for the flowers of the field which appear today and are shortly destroyed, why will He not care for you, who are made in His image and have been redeemed by Him? He will do much more for you!
Activating God’s provision
However, for some us, we need to activate God’s abundant provision in our lives. We need to learn to give! Apostle Paul was able to tell the Church in Philippi that God will meet all their needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19) because of their generosity recorded in Philippians 4:18 ~“I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God” (NIV).
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” ~Luke 6:38 (NIV).
May you experience God’s abundant provision in the run up to 2018 and beyond.
