I hear the sound of abundance!
Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” [1 Kings 18:41, NKJV].
In the midst of the current financial crisis and upheaval, I hear the sound of abundance. “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” [Philippians 4:19, NIV].
But why would God provide for you? Well He will because you are in a covenant relationship with Him! And He cares …for you! Come to think of it, if He looks after the flowers, why will He not take care of you, knowing that you are much more valuable than the flowers?
Let’s take a moment to consider the flowers of the field as Jesus urges us to do in Matthew 6:28-30. God takes care of them and clothes them in beautiful colours. They don’t spin thread to make clothing, yet as Jesus said, not even King Solomon in all his glory was ever dressed like one of them.
If God cares for the flowers of the field which appear today and are shortly destroyed, why will He not care for you, who are made in His image and have been redeemed by Him? He will do much more for you! Do I hear an “Amen”?
